Aldo Minucci was born in Siena in 1927. A self-taught painter, he became famous for his naïve painting, whose main subjects are scenes of rural life and animals in fierce and poetic contexts at the same time. Much appreciated in Tuscany and in Northern Europe, in 1974 he began to collaborate exclusively with the Piero Della Francesca Art Gallery in Arezzo, which hosted his first major retrospective and published two of his graphic works. His career reached its peak in 1980, when he created the banner of the Palio di Siena, won by the contrada dell'Onda. His works are present in important public and private collections. He dies in Siena in 2014.
