BACOSI MANLIO

Manlio Bacosi was born in Perugia in 1921. It forms near the study of the sculptor Leo Ravazzi; important also the frequentation of the study of Gerardo Dottori. In 1947 his first exhibition and since then has set up numerous personal in Italy and abroad. In 1972 the city of Todi presented in his honor an anthological exhibition at the town hall. 1975 in Recanati on the occasion of the events leopardiane presented in the municipal halls a large collection of his works. 1975 the city of Montecatini has organized a personal exhibition of over 50 works. In December 1975 the town of Rome presented a large personal exhibition in the halls of Palazzo Braschi.In March 1976 took place at the town of Perugia, an anthological exhibition of over 80 works.In 1979 he was awarded the International Prize S.Valentino d'Oro for the Figurative Arts.In July of the same year anthological exhibition at the museum of San Marino organized by the municipality. In May 1982 the great personal exhibition with 80 works in the Saloni della Molinella in Faenza under the patronage of the municipality. His works have taken part in all major artistic events and are present in many collections, private and public, Italian and foreign. He died in Perugia in 1998. Recently there has been a rediscovery of Bacosi's work with anthological exhibitions in important public places. The Art Gallery Piero Della Francesca of Arezzo, which since the 60's has represented the master (of which it has organized 4 personal exhibitions and with which it has realized valuable art editions with engravings and lithographs), continues to propose to its public historical and selected works of this great artist, finally recognized as a great master of the twentieth century.
